Hear From Our Clients
Lynsey
‘Martz is a real innovator,’ says her colleague of over 5 years, Lynsey, “clients have responded really well to Springys, and in some cases have had better results than traditional Pilates.”
“Springys offers different resistance, so offers more variety. I’ve seen it really work for footy players who want more strength; it provides a greater, more stable base.”
Penny Cula-Reid
Penny Cula-Reid is an Australian Rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club (AFL Women’s competition) and is now Senior Coach of Collingwood’s VFLW team.
Penny’s love of football was dampened by a lower disc bulge that caused her substantial pain after just a couple of minutes of running.
Since commencing Springys twice a week in 2017, she’s increased her core strength; switching on muscles that had prior laid dormant.
“Martine provides hands-on feedback and I’ve learnt how to activate muscles I previously wasn’t using.
I’m now running six and a half minutes pain-free, which is better than I’ve ever been,” she says, “I used to only manage two minutes at best.”
“Unfortunately I didn’t realise the benefit of pre-hab until I was injured. If I could go back, I would have done this years ago.”
Olivia Junkeer
Actor – ‘Yashvi Rebecchi’ Neighbours, Fremantle Media
21 year old, Olivia Junkeer (best known for her character ‘Yashvi’ in the television show Neighbours) started Springys mid-2017.
Whilst her character has a natural talent for football, Olivia uses Springys to strenghten, tone and shape her body and provide endurance and fitness for her busy schedule.
“I’d highly recommend Springys for girls my age. It’s good to start early to strengthen your core to maintain your posture.
I find it helps with being mindful and aware of the different muscles within your body,” she says.
“Martine is very passionate and educated about the body and she explains what you should be feeling in each exercise. It helps to keep me mindful and focused during the session.”
Ian
Ian, now 65, who has been active in sports such as AFL for years, was introduced to the Springys system late 2014, as a solution for rehabilitation for a shoulder issue. He was recommended a set of exercises based on the Springys systems, and he remains an avid user of the system, attending two classes a week.
“I’ve found my muscle tone is maintained by a Springys workout,” he says, “as is flexibility. You can go at your own rate in terms of weight resistance.”
John Stewart
Future Football—Operations Manager
I was introduced to Unified Fitness through a close friend who works there. I had a bad back injury which put me in hospital for a number of weeks and also lost feeling in both legs. After returning home I joined Unified. I have played and coached soccer professionally for over 15 years. It was the best rehab program and exercise prescription that I have ever done. The recovery and strength I have gained since attending has been second to none. I just wish I had of found Unified and this level of expertise many years before. If I had I known, I would have never had my back injury. I couldn’t recommend Lynsey and Unified fitness highly enough. Aside from rehab, they can especially cater for soccer players and coaches using their Springys system, this type of prehab training should be a part of every soccer program, young and old. It will assist you in preventing injury and will give you the edge to your sports performance that you have been looking for.
